BY PLANE

  • Vienna is served by Vienna International Airport (Flughafen Wien-Schwechat), located in Schwechat, 18 km (or 11 mi) south-east of central Vienna.

    - From the UK: British Airways and EasyJet operate direct flights out of London. Low-cost EasyJet fly direct out of Manchester. British Airways and Germanwings also fly indirect from other cities.

    - From Ireland: Air Lingus operates direct flights from Dublin.

    - From Germany: Lufthansa and Air Berlin fly direct out of Berlin, Hamburg, Dusseldorf, Cologne, Frankfurt and Munich. Low-cost FlyNikki also fly direct from Frankfurt and Munich.

    - From the Netherlands: KLM provide direct flights from Amsterdam.

    - From Sweden, Denmark and Norway: Austrian and FlyNikki fly direct from Stockholm in Sweden and Copenhagen in Denmark. Norwegian and Austrian fly direct from Oslo in Norway.

HOW TO GET FROM THE AIRPORT TO THE HOTEL

  • The ‘City Airport Train’ links the airport to Wien Mitte station in just 15 minutes, costing €12 each way. You can then get a taxi for the rest of the journey.

    Taxis are available outside the airport – the journey should take around half an hour and cost roughly €40.
    The Vienna Airport Lines bus number 1187 will take you to Westbahnhof station in under 45 minutes, costing €8 for adults or €4 for children. From there, switch onto the U-bahn network and you are 2 stops away from Johnstraße, from here it is a 6minunte taxi drive to the hotel.

BY TRAIN

  • Vienna is a major international transport hub, reachable from many locations around Europe. Find ticket information on line with Rail Europe. Most international trains arrive at Westbahnhof station, from where you can switch onto the U-bahn network and head 2 stops along to Johnstraße, from here it is a 6 minunte taxi drive to the hotel.

METRO

  • The nearest metro stations are Hietzing, 150 metres away (line U4) and Schönbrunn (line M4).
