The Chesterfield Mayfair Hotel ★★★★

Be quintessentially British in England’s capital

Exceptional
9 /10
By Melanie Webb, VeryChic correspondent
“Maybe it’s because I’m a Londoner that I love London so... maybe it’s because I’m a Londoner that I think of her wherever I go...”

I love London. And the Queen. And tea and cakes at three in the afternoon. I love the history that surrounds Buckingham Palace and the royal family; the grand parks that are dotted about the city, especially the enormous Hyde Park; I love frequenting the theatre and watching the street performers in Covent Garden. And I love that in one place there can be so many things that are so quintessentially British, yet this multicultural melting-pot of 300 languages, has an array of cuisines and other cultural products to offer; a little bit of French, Italian, Indian, Caribbean, Spanish or African, all with that British twist. Maybe it’s because I’m a Londoner that I love London so, but I’m certain that just one day is all this city needs to make you fall in love with her too...
