What I like most about rural France is its local markets with fresh fruits, produce, and artisan products which are hand-picked and made with the utmost in care. In rural Burgundy, no visit would be complete without a thorough tasting of the region’s top wines. The good thing about being here is that you get to visit the vineyards and taste directly from the source. And while you’re at it, why not stay in a fashionable, luxury hotel? Le Richebourg Hotel Restaurant & Spa, located in the heart of the wine-making centre, is the perfect choice for a relaxing getaway filled with discovery of Burgundy and its cultural heritage.

BY PLANE

  • The nearest airport is Lyon–Saint Exupéry Airport (LYS), which is located around 20 km / 13 mi east-southeast of Lyon city centre, and around 192 km / 119mi (1 hour and 52 minutes') drive from the hotel. It is fairly well-served internationally and receives flights from a number of capitals and other large cities across Europe, including the UK.

BY TRAIN

  • Gare de Dijon-Ville (20km from the hotel) is the main station in Dijon and receives France's high-speed TGV train services. It is therefore possible to reach Dijon by train rapidly from a number of neighbouring countries as well as elsewhere in France. The journey from Paris-Gare de Lyon to Dijon takes less than 2 hours which makes flying to Paris, then taking a train, a viable option.
