View all offersWhen I decided to take a trip to Burgundy, it was with the intention of fully taking advantage of its local products and the finer things in life; so when I happened upon Le Richebourg, I knew I had found a winner. Located in Vosne-Romanée, known as the “Pearl of Burgundy”, just 30 minutes from Dijon, the property is situated amongst vineyards along the Route des Grands Crus, the wine-making heartland of Burgundy. Here I could relish in the delights on offer by visiting the wine-makers just steps from the hotel, in addition to local produce and specialties which make this region one of France’s finest.
Within the elegant design of Le Richebourg, I found a rural haven featuring large rooms, air conditioning, free Wi-Fi, and flat screen TVs. This was accommodation at its best; modern and stylishly decorated with a warm, bright, and sophisticated design, perfect for unwinding between my excursions.
Other hotel highlights not to be missed are the Zen spa with open-air hot tub and le “Vin-T-age,” the hotel’s aptly-named restaurant. The spa features locally-produced beauty products while the restaurant only uses local farm-grown ingredients for dishes that really stand out. Everything is natural, from the wine to the body treatments and facials - a truly organic experience!
Once settled in and ready to explore, I had trouble knowing where to start, but the staff at the hotel were lovely enough to point me in the right direction. They suggested I visit the Ferme Fruirouge for a taste of their fruity products before touring the vineyards. Not far from Vosne-Romanée, the farm is a great place to visit to get a taste of local red fruits such as strawberries and raspberries, which they make into jams, drinks, and condiments.
Afterwards it was time to visit the vineyards and the region’s Grands Crus wines. There are so many options on offer – your best bet is to do some research on which ones to visit in Burgundy before you arrive. The good thing about staying at Le Richebourg is that you’re never far from a perfect glass of wine, so no matter where you go you’re bound to find joy. My trip to Burgundy couldn’t have been better, and I have Le Richebourg to thank for it.
