View all offersSeveral years ago I spent a fair few months in Barcelona, getting to grips with Spanish and Catalan and taking advantage the warm and long sunny days that as an English girl, I was just not used to. Several years later, I decided to have a girls trip and show them all the secrets of this inspiring and quirky city that I had discovered. All being sun lovers like me, naturally we chose a beach location, of a unique hotel; Barcelona Princess.
The 23 floors of the hotel made part of Barcelona’s architectural skyline. I couldn’t wait to get into one of the exterior lifts and watch the world grow smaller as it climbed higher and higher. The funky flavour of this trendy hotel was clear from the moment we walked into the lobby.
The hotel has incredible views of the city that stretch further than you would imagine! It was a refreshing look at the city from an angle I had never seen before. The rooms were modern and spacious with large windows that allowed the light to shine through. The rooftop pool has stunning views of the beach and the city to the sides, a great space to soak up the Spanish sun. We especially enjoyed Desigual’s colourful and funky wall mural that was the backdrop to this scene. The pool bar was also a display of Desigual bohemian chic, and a perfect example of the cool, quirkiness of the city. It was the perfect place to grab a sweet cocktail, sink into a beanbag and have a good catch up, something that I had missed in everyday life.
We took every chance to appreciate the views of the building; even a work out at the gym was a delight as it faced the outside world with glass walls. It also faced the third floor swimming pool and amazingly, both pools were heated so that they can be enjoyed even in the cooler winter and spring of Barcelona.
After growing to love the city all over again during the week, when it was time to print off our boarding passes in the hotel’s IT room it almost felt like heartbreak. Hasta luego, because we’d definitely be back!
