It was thanks to VeryChic that I stumbled upon this very unique gem. From my first step inside the hotel I was introduced to the world of fashion, just one of the things Paris is so famous for, everything was fanciful and eclectic yet still very pleasingly elegant.
“For me elegance is not to go unnoticed but to get to the very soul of what one is.” – Christian Lacroix
The staff were smiley and friendly, an unfortunately rare commodity in Paris at times. I was helped with my bags to my room, leaving behind the antiquated yet inevitably classy lobby with its curved-back velvet sofas. My “Discovery Room”, proved to be an equally luxurious space, considering the small standard of Parisian rooms. It was a world of stripes and whimsical murals, with warm and welcoming tones. Each of the rooms here are in fact individual and different, where Lacroix shows off his terrific talents.
“The idea of seeing everybody clad the same is not really my cup of tea.” – Christian Lacroix
Le Bellechasse not only provides visual wonders but also tasty ones; I was sure to never miss a breakfast. It was there that there was an array of “vienoiserie”; French pastry that delight the tongue and satisfy the stomach. It was a great pleasure just to sit in this eccentric dining hall where no detail has been sacrificed, by magnificently displayed for the guests’ enjoyment.
“The world needs some excitement from fashion.” – Christian Lacroix
And here at the heart of Paris’ classiest and traditional neighbourhood I could really feel that spark of fashion excitement. Even in a neighbourhood that has marvellously retained its historical charms and prestige, it is always possible to see new fashions emerge from its art galleries to its boutique shopping or gastronomy… And of course with this fantastically central location, you’re never far from the rest of Paris.
