France
Paris is served by three main airports: Paris Charles de Gaulle (CDG), located 25 km (16 mi) to the northeast of Paris, Paris Orly (ORY), located 13 km (8.1 mi) south of Paris, and Paris Beauvais (BVA), around 85 km (53 mi) north of Paris (near the city of Beauvais).
Paris Charles de Gaulle and Paris Orly receive flights from most capitals and major cities across Europe. Meanwhile, low-cost airlines (notably Ryanair), operate flights to Paris Beauvais from many cities across Europe.
From Paris Charles de Gaulle airport:
- By taxi: Taxis are easily found outside each terminal, be sure to take an officially licensed taxi from the rank. Fares vary depending on traffic, but expect to pay between 50 to 65 euros.
- By train: This is generally the most cost-efficient method. The airport connects to the city via Line B of the RER; take the train to Châtelet Les Halles. Tickets are 9.75€ or 6.85€ for children (4- 9).
From Paris Orly airport:
- By taxi: Taxis are easily found outside each terminal, make sure to take an officially licensed taxi from the rank. Fares vary depending on traffic, but expect to pay between 30 to 40 euros.
- By train: The airport is connected to RER line B via the bus service ORLYVAL, the bus will drop you off at the RER station Anthony. From here you can take the RER to Châtelet Les Halles. The combined journey costs around 11.65€ and 5.80€ for children (4-10).
From Paris-Beauvais airport:
- By train: Take a taxi (around 11€) or shuttle bus (around 4€ per person) to Beauvais station from which the TER line 19 runs to Paris Gare du Nord. From there, take the RER line B or D to Châtelet Les Halles.

Most international trains arrive at either Paris Gare du Nord or Paris de l’Est. From either station, take metro line M4 to Strasbourg – Saint-Denis and change for line M8 to Concorde (from Gare du Nord you can also take bus 42 to Opéra or Concorde), see below for further directions.
