Diamond Deluxe Hotel ★★★★★ - Adults Only

One of the first things you notice about the Diamond Deluxe Hotel, besides its sheer size and grand beauty, is the serene atmosphere. This hotel places great emphasis on establishing the most tranquil environment possible, and is consequently exclusive to adults.

A beautifully presented basket of fruit and wine immediately catches my eye upon entering the Diamond Suite. Laid out on our desk beside the welcome guide, alongside the freshly cut flowers which fill the room with a delicate blossom scent; a soft fragrance which also seeps into the spotlessly white bed linen. Subtle golden decor adds a magical aura to the room, complimenting the celestial white colour scheme – as is characteristic of Greek design.

What excited me most however, were the large balcony doors that opened out to our private pool. In fact, images of the glittering turquoise pool, cushy seating and floral decor is what most attracted me about this room. What the images don’t quite capture is the majesty of the view. In the distance lies the Aegean Sea with its long, white beaches. Accompanying this view are gorgeous olive trees, rock formations and iconic Greek mountains.

Should you wish to indulge further (as is the Greek way!) then give yourself over to ultimate relaxation at the Diamond Deluxe Spa. Each one of the wellness treatments – from the aromatic oil massage to the deep tissue therapy – puts your mind at rest amidst a harmonic setting of marble decor and flower bouquets.

The hotel’s dining options are plentiful. As self-confessed food lovers, my partner and I would usually not think twice about travelling long distances to try new dishes in unique and varied settings. Whilst staying at the Diamond Deluxe, however, we very infrequently left the premises for food – opting instead for the splendid choice of continental cuisine on offer. For pre-drinks, we ordered cocktails at the chic Radiant Pool Bar; an open space that seems to float upon the pool, with incredible chairs that are shaped like petals. The Peruzzi Restaurant was our favourite for late-night dinner, not only because of its unbeatable menu but because of its romantic setting. With a blanket of stars above us and sea views around us; this restaurant’s combination of cosy stone decor and soft candlelight made for some unforgettable dining experiences.
