The Alexander House Hotel & Utopia Spa ***** is set in 120 acres of rolling West Sussex parkland, a little over an hours’ drive south of London, and around 40 minutes’ drive north of Brighton and Hove on the coast.
London’s Gatwick Airport is located just 10 miles (17 km) or so drive to the north west of the hotel (a little under 20 minute drive).
- From the UK: British Airways (BA) & EasyJet operate flights from elsewhere in the UK including Glasgow, Edinburgh and Belfast.
- From Ireland: Aer Lingus and Ryanair fly direct from Dublin. Aer Lingus also fly from Knock and Ryanair also fly from Cork and Shannon.
- From Germany: EasyJet fly direct from Berlin, Hamburg, Dusseldorf, Cologne and Munich.
- From the Netherlands: BA and EasyJet provide direct flights from Amsterdam.
- From Sweden, Denmark, Norway and Finland: Norwegian and EasyJet fly direct from Copenhagen, and Norwegian also fly direct from Stockholm, Oslo and Helsinki.
- From France: EasyJet fly direct from most major cities including Paris, Lyon, Strasbourg, Nantes, Bordeaux, Toulouse, Biarritz, Marseille and Nice.
- By taxi: Taxis are readily available outside the airport, it should cost around £30-40 to reach the hotel.
- By car: Leaving the airport, make your way onto the M23 towards Brighton. Shortly after, take the exit for the A264 for Crawley and Grinstead, then take the first left for the A264 (A22) towards East Grinstead. At the second roundabout, take a right (third exit) towards Haywards Heath. Follow this road for about 5 minutes then take a left when you reach The Crown pub. Continue on this road for a couple of minutes more until you see the hotel on your left.
The nearest train station is East Grinstead station. From there, a taxi will take less than 10 minutes through the luscious Sussex countryside. From within the UK trains can be found and booked via National Rail.
From mainland Europe trains can be found and booked via Rail Europe. Together, the companies Eurostar and Thalys operate high speed train services from Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium and France to London King’s Cross St Pancras International. From there, take the Victoria Line to Victoria Station to take a train to East Grinstead.
From Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and on Saturdays, Sundays and French bank holidays from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
