The Best Western Plus Suitcase Paris La Défense **** Hotel is located in the Hauts-de-Seine department of Paris near La Défense business district and just 20 minutes by car from the Arc de Triomphe.
Paris has three main airports: Paris Charles de Gaulle and Paris Orly along with the low-cost airport Paris Beauvais, located a little further out of the city.
From Paris Charles de Gaulle:
- By Taxi: Taxis are easily found outside each terminal, be sure to take an officially licensed taxi from the rank. Fares vary depending on traffic, but expect to pay somewhere around 60€ (around £43).
- By Train: This is generally the most cost-efficient method. The airport connects to the city via Line B of the RER; take the train to Paris Nord RER and switch to the Line E of the RER and take it to Paris Blvd Haussmann/St-Lazare. Then switch again to take the Line J of the RER to Bois Colombes. Tickets are €9.75 or €6.85 for children (ages 4- 9).
From Paris Orly:
- By Taxi: Taxis are easily found outside each terminal, make sure to take an officially licensed taxi from the rank. Fares vary depending on traffic, but expect to pay between 35€ to 45€ (around £25-£32).
- By Train: The Orlyval bus connects the airport with RER station Anthony, served by line B. Take the train to Paris Nord RER and switch to the Line E of the RER and take it to Paris Blvd Haussmann/St-Lazare. Then switch again to take the Line J of the RER to Bois Colombes. The combined journey costs €11.65 and €5.80 for children (4-10).
From Paris-Beauvais:
- By Train: Take a taxi (around €11/£8) or shuttle bus (around €4/£3) to Beauvais station, from where the TER line 19 runs to Paris Gare du Nord. From there you can take the Line E of the RER and take it to Paris Blvd Haussmann/St-Lazare. Then switch again to take the Line J of the RER to Bois Colombes.
- By Bus: There’s a shuttle bus operating between the airport and Porte Maillot in the city. From there, take line 1 to Charles de Gaulle – Étoile to the Champs-Élysées - Clemenceau stop and switch to line 13 (turquoise) to Saint-Lazare stop. Switch again to RER Line J and get off at Bois-Colombes.
Most international trains arrive at either Paris Gare du Nord or Paris Gare de l’Est. From both stations you can take Line E of the RER and take it to Paris Blvd Haussmann/St-Lazare. Then switch again to take the Line J of the RER to Bois Colombes.
- From the UK: The train company Eurostar, operate trains from London St. Pancras International train station to Paris Gare du Nord.
- From Germany: Direct trains terminating at either Paris Gare du Nord or Paris de l’Est, are found from several major cities including Frankfurt, Cologne and Dusseldorf. High-speed train company Thalys operate trains from Dusseldorf and Cologne.
- From the Netherlands: The High-speed train company Thalys run direct trains from Amsterdam and Rotterdam to Paris Gare du Nord.
- From France: The TGV operate fast trains from all over France, including: Lille, Nantes, Lyon, Bordeaux, Marseille and Nice.
The closest station, found just in front of the hotel, is Bois-Colombes which is served by Line J of the RER. From the station it is just a 5 minute walk to the hotel.
Exit onto Rue du Général Leclerc/D13 and walk down to the junction with Rue des Bourguignons/D11. Turn right onto Rue des Bourguignons/D11 and walk straight for about 250 metres and you will see the hotel on the right.
