Marmotel

Over the years, I’ve developed a profound love for the rugged peaks of mountains, especially those in the magnificent Alps; so when a VeryChic deal at the Marmotel popped up, I couldn’t stop myself!

As we drove up near the charming resort of Pra Loup I couldn’t stop my heart from fluttering as I saw the beautiful scenery I had been imagining in my mind come to life. I couldn’t wait to jump out of the car and breathe the fresh mountain air. Our arrival at the Marmotel didn’t disappoint; the main hall is grand and decked out in Alpine glory which perfectly blended rustic décor and modern furniture. Fluffy rugs and stools lend the large hall a cosiness that only comes from traditional Alpine accommodation.

Our room was cosy, with an irresistibly comfortable bed. My favourite thing was undoubtedly the verdant view that glowed through our glass doors, which led onto a little furnished balcony where we could breathe in the pure mountain air. The bathroom is slick and well-equipped with hotel toiletries and there was plenty storage room thanks to the nifty use of space in the bedroom. The room was relatively small, but it was all we would need for our adventure-packed, fun-filled holiday. When we had settled in, we headed to the bar for our free drink, courtesy of VeryChic.

For us, every morning was a trip to Le Refuge’s bright and airy space for a breakfast buffet with ample choice and we returned there in the evening to enjoy its romantic atmosphere. For lunch, Aux Pieds des Pistes was a great option; we could sit out on the terrace and watch the hikers go by. There were also plenty of options for a refreshing drink or sweet aperitif before our meal; this is France after all!

The Marmotel not only provided us with a comfortable resting place and tasty meals but also with the perfect antidote to tiring hikes in mountains… I could only be talking about the spa of course! The 400m² offered top-class facilities; a sauna, hammam, hot tub and Nordic bath. With our spa reductions, we decided to treat ourselves to massages and Iindulged in a cheeky pedicure and manicure. What are holidays about if not splashing out and treating yourself?

Thanks to the perfect combination of relaxing and taking to the hills in a sporting fashion, we had an excellent holiday in the mountains. And of course, the Marmotel played an enormous part thanks to its prime location and facilities to meet the needs of all their guests!
