BY PLANE

  • Paris has three main airports: Paris Charles de Gaulle and Paris Orly along with the low-cost airport Paris Beauvais, located a little further out of the city.

    - From the UK: British Airways, Air France, CityJet and EasyJet all operate direct flights out of London. EasyJet also fly direct from Bristol, Belfast, Edinburgh and Glasgow while Ryanair fly direct from Manchester and Flybe from Birmingham.

    - From Ireland: Flying from Dublin, direct flights are operated by Aer Lingus, Air France and Ryanair. Aer Lingus also fly from Cork, while Ryanair also fly direct from Shannon.

    - From Germany: Airlines flying direct from Berlin include: Lufthansa, Air Berlin, Air France, EasyJet and Germanwings. Air France and Germanwings also fly direct from Hamburg and Dusseldorf while Lufthansa also fly direct out of Frankfurt and Munich.

    - From the Netherlands: Air France and KLM both provide direct flights out of Amsterdam.

    - From Sweden, Denmark, Norway and Finland: SAS, Air France, KLM and Norwegian all fly direct from Stockholm in Sweden, Oslo in Norway and Copenhagen in Denmark. Low-cost airline Ryanair also fly out of Stockholm and Oslo while low-cost Easyjet also fly from Copenhagen. Finnair and Norwegian fly direct from Helsinki, Finland.

    - From France: Air France operate shuttle flights from most major cities to Paris, including: Strasbourg, Lyon, Bordeaux, Toulouse, Biarritz, Marseille and Nice.

HOW TO GET FROM THE AIRPORT TO THE HOTEL

  • From Paris Charles de Gaulle airport:
    - By Taxi: Taxis are easily found outside each terminal, be sure to take an officially licensed taxi from the rank. Fares vary depending on traffic, but expect to pay between 50€ to 65€ (around £35-£46).

    - By Train: This is generally the most cost-efficient method. The airport connects to the city via Line B of the RER; take the train to Châtelet Les Halles. From there, take the metro line M1 (yellow) to Hôtel de Ville.Tickets are 9.75€ (around £7) or 6.85€ (around £5) for children ages 4- 9.

    From Paris Orly airport:
    - By Taxi: Taxis are easily found outside each terminal, make sure to take an officially licensed taxi from the rank. Fares vary depending on traffic, but expect to pay between 30€ to 40€ (around £21-£28).

    - By Train: The airport is connected to RER line B via the bus service ORLYVAL, the bus will drop you off at the RER station Anthony. From here you can take the RER to Châtelet Les Halles. From there, take the metro line M1 (yellow) to Hôtel de Ville. The combined journey costs around 11.65€ (around £8) and 5.80€ (around £4) for children ages 4-10.

    From Paris-Beauvais airport:
    - By Train: Take a taxi (around 11€/£8) or shuttle bus (around 4€/£3 per person) to Beauvais station from which the TER line 19 runs to Paris Gare du Nord. From there, take the RER line B or D to Châtelet Les Halles. From there, take the metro line M1 (yellow) to Hôtel de Ville.

    - By Bus: There’s a shuttle bus operating between the airport and Porte Maillot in the city. From there, take the metro line M1 (yellow) to Hôtel de Ville.

BY TRAIN

  • Most international trains arrive at either Paris Gare du Nord or Paris de l’Est. From either station, take metro line M4 to Strasbourg – Saint-Denis and change for line M8 to Concorde (from Gare du Nord you can also take bus 42 to Opéra or Concorde), see below for further directions.

    Eurostar operate trains from London St. Pancras International train station to Paris Gare du Nord. From Germany trains can terminate at either Paris Gare du Nord or Paris de l’Est. Direct trains can be found from several major cities including Frankfurt, Cologne and Dusseldorf, and high speed trains from Dusseldorf and Cologne with Thalys. From the Netherlands Thalys also run direct fast trains from Amsterdam and Rotterdam to Paris Gare du Nord. From the rest of France and some neighbouring countries the French TGV operate fast trains.

BY PUBLIC TRANSPORT

  • - Hôtel de Ville Metro: Served by line M1, this is the nearest metro station and only 5 minutes’ walk from the hotel. Walk east on Rue Rivoli and take a left onto Rue du Bourg Tibourg and continue straight, the hotel will be on the left.
  • Local tourist taxes not included: 2.47€ a night, per person (ages 18+)
  • Check in from 3pm & check out until 12pm
