The serene Seine River is the centre piece of Paris as well as the inspiration of many a famous artist and many a famous song, all attempting to capture its romantic allure with music or paint. No wonder, then, that this beautiful spot along its banks was chosen both by Monet and King Leopold of Belgium II, who built a romantic escape here for his lover, Blanche de Vaughan. This is now the Domaine De La Corniche, an elegant, sumptuous hotel that offers a French retreat in regal style.
