The Kingsway Hall Hotel **** is found in central London between the vibrant Covent Garden and Holborn areas. It is also only a stone’s throw away from Theatreland, the Royal Opera House and the British Museum.
London is served by several airports: London Heathrow (west), London Gatwick (south), London Stansted (north-east), London Luton (north-west) and London City (south-east). Between them, they receive flights from most major cities across Europe, some are listed below:
From the UK & Ireland: Between them, British Airways (BA), EasyJet & Flybe operate flights to London from elsewhere in the UK including Belfast, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Aberdeen, Manchester, Leeds & Newcastle (Flybe additionally fly seasonally from Exeter and Newquay). Aer Lingus and Ryanair fly from Dublin, Cork and Shannon. BA also fly from Dublin.
From Germany: Direct flights from major cities including Berlin, Hamburg, Dusseldorf, Frankfurt, Cologne and Munich, are available from the following airlines: BA, Air Berlin, Lufthansa, EasyJet, Ryanair & Germanwings.
From Belgium: BA, Brussels Airlines & Easyjet all offer flights from Brussels.
From the Netherlands: KLM, BA, EasyJet, CityJet & Flybe provide direct flights from Amsterdam. BA, Cityjet and KLM also fly out of Rotterdam and Ryanair fly from Eindhoven.
From Sweden, Denmark, Norway and Finland: BA, SAS, Norwegian and EasyJet fly direct from Stockholm in Sweden and Oslo in Norway. The same, except replacing EasyJet with Ryanair, fly from Copenhagen in Denmark. BA, Norwegian and Finnair fly direct from Helsinki in Finland.
From France: Between them, BA, Air France, EasyJet, Ryanair & CityJet fly direct from Paris, Lyon, Strasbourg, Nantes, Bordeaux, Toulouse, Montpellier, Marseille & Nice.
From London Heathrow:
- By Train: The cheapest and probably most convenient method is taking the underground (metro) Piccadilly Line (dark blue) to Holborn station. The hotel is then just a minute away.
From London Gatwick:
- By Train: The Gatwick Express to London Victoria runs regularly, taking 30 minutes. Tickets are around £20 single (£10 for children) or £35 return (£18 for children); it is a little cheaper if booked in advance. For around £15, Southern Trains operate four times an hour to London Victoria, taking around 35-40 minutes. From there take the underground Victoria Line (pale blue) to Oxford Circus then change for the Central Line (red) to Holborn.
- By Bus: National Express operates direct coach services also to London Victoria once an hour with a journey time of around 90 minutes. Tickets are around £8 single, £15 return. From there, see above for directions to the hotel.
A low-cost, frequent and non-stop transfer service is also operated by EasyBus from North and South terminals to Earls Court/West Brompton. The journey takes about an hour. From there take the Piccadilly Line (dark blue) into central London. Then there are various ways to change onto the Central Line (red) for Holborn.
From London City:
- By Train: There is a DLR train station in front of the airport; take the DLR (turquoise line) towards Stratford. Here, take the Central Line (red) to Holborn.
- By Taxi: London City airport is close to central London, therefore a cab will cost around £30.
From London Luton:
- By Train: A shuttle bus goes to Luton Airport Parkway Station where trains run to London St Pancras/ Kings Cross in 25 minutes. Tickets are around £18 single and £30 return. From there take the Piccadilly Line to Holborn.
- By Bus: The National Express to London Victoria (about 35 minutes) is around £10 single and £15 return. EasyBus run to Baker Street (60 minutes) which is often cheaper but prices vary.
From London Stansted:
- By Train: The Stansted Express runs to London Liverpool Street in about 50 minutes, for around £23 single and £33 return.
- By Bus: The National Express to London Liverpool Street (about 75 minutes) costs £8 single and £15 return, here, take the Central Line direct to Holborn.
EasyBus go to Baker Street (75 minutes) and is often cheaper but prices vary. From there take the Jubilee Line (grey) to Bond Street, and change to the central line (red) to Holborn.
From within the UK trains can be found and booked via National Rail. From mainland Europe trains can be found and booked via Rail Europe. Together, the companies Eurostar and Thalys operate high speed train services from Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium and France to London St Pancras International.
Holborn is the closest underground station to the hotel, served by the Central Line (red). Exiting the station, turn left towards New Oxford Street and keep left to High Holborn. The hotel will be on your left.
