Remarkable
8.6 /10

How strange that the most recognised symbol of any city in the world was only built in 1900! How wonderful that the most enduring legacy of the Paris Exposition Universelle should be not a structure but an art movement. And how beautifully appropriate that the Hotel Gustave ****, which witnessed the construction of the Eiffel Tower, should now have recreated itself in the languid and colourful lines of Art Nouveau!

Chic idea: to make the most of your time in Paris, book your tickets in advance for a wide range of activities, here.
