L'Arnsbourg ★★★★

Alsace’s oscillating history between France and Germany, its position wavering on the precipice between the two countries, means that visitors to the region find a unique blend of culture and hospitality unlike anywhere else in France – even the traditional regional dialect, Alsatian, is Germanic. The dining room, by contrast, is completely modern by design, but the ceiling to floor glass windows and red brick columns keep it blending in with the woodland. You dine on delectable and delicate French fare whilst bathed in natural light, with the tranquil forest growing all around you.
