The Holiday Inn Lower East Side **** is located in the trendy Lower East Side of Manhattan, in New-York.
New York is currently served by two main international airports: John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK), located around 12 mi (20 km) southeast of Lower Manhattan, and around 26 kilometres from the hotel, a 50 minute journey, and Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR), located around 15 mi (24 km) southwest of Midtown Manhattan, in New Jersey, around 30 kilometres from the hotel, an hour's journey.
Between them they receive international flights from a large number of airlines and destinations, including from most capitals and many large cities across Europe.
Getting from JFK International Airport to the hotel:
- By taxi: A taxi is the most comfortable, but not the most economical solution. Above all, be sure to take a real, licensed taxi (choose one from the designated taxi rank at the airport). It costs about $50, plus any tolls on the way and the tip (15 %); all in all, the total is usually around $70.
- By train: First take the AirTrain to Jamaica Station and then switch to the subway J train all the way to Essex Street. From there it is a minutes' walk to the hotel (see below for directions to the hotel). A ticket from the airport, one way will cost around $7.50 and will take around an hour.
- By bus: From John F. Kennedy Airport, the bus company NYC Airporter run services to Manhatten. Get off at Penn Station. (It costs around $16 one-way and $29 round trip.) From there take the subway F train to Delancy Street, a 2 minute walk to the hotel.
Getting from Newark International Airport to the hotel:
The Olympia Newark Express takes passengers from Newark Liberty airport to Port Authority Bus Terminal and Grand Central Station. Get off at Port Authority. It costs around $16 one-way and $28 round trip. From there take the subway A train to Fulton Street and then the J train to Essex Street.
- By private shuttle: You can also take a private shuttle (capacity: 8 people maximum) with Shuttle New York, which will drop passengers off in front of their hotel. You can book in shared or a private shuttle, however you must book before you leave.
From Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and on Saturdays, Sundays and French bank holidays from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
