Palazzo Castri 1874 is located right at the heart of fantastical Florence, with a captivating view over the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore, and it embodies an aura of artistic flare. Just as the Renaissance was acclaimed as a cultural bridge between the Middle Ages and modern history, Palazzo Castri 1874 merges traditional aspects of culture and design with more contemporary elements.
The interior décor at Palazzo Castri 1874 is a work of art in itself and, as in paintings, it’s not just colour, but also a mix of texture that adds depth and tone to the piece. The hotel plays with combinations of and relationships between light, sound, and touch, with different materials running throughout the range of rooms, including some with frescoed ceilings and others with exposed wooden beams.
The lemon tree is an enduring symbol of Italy’s famed natural beauty, often used in Renaissance paintings, and its fresh scent, together with the fragrance of magnolia flowers, fills the hotel’s enchanting inner garden, La Limonaia. This tranquil open space serves as an enticing oasis, with centuries-old palm trees and a hydromassage pool to add to the ambience.
Finally, just as the purpose of art is multifaceted, with many masterpieces compelling you to ponder different life questions and others serving as a point for aesthetic appreciation, Palazzo Castri 1874 is an amalgamation of various aspects intrinsically linked to Italy, Florence, or the artistic aura that pervades the city and its streets, encouraging guests to indulge in beauty and find meaning in existence.
‘The spirit of creation is an intricate exploration from within the soul.’ – El Greco
