Looking out over the waters of the Mediterranean, the sleepy fishing hamlet of Elounda is an enchanting getaway set amid traditional Cretan tavernas under the shade of carob trees dotting the unhurried coastline and traditional fishing boats moored by the docks. The Elounda Palm Hotel is a delightful family getaway where the meaning of time seems to disappear into the mesmerising blue of water and sky.

Nestled on a hillside overlooking Elounda Bay, the Elounda Palm Hotel is just 1km from the centre of Elounda on the northeast coast of Crete.

BY PLANE

  • Heraklion International Airport, “Nikos Kazantzakis” (HER), Crete's main airport, sits around 5 km / 3 mi east of Heraklion on the central northern coast. It is around 65 km / 40 mi (60 minutes') drive from the hotel.

    The airport receives flights from a large number of cities across Europe, including the UK. Many flights operate in the summer seaon, otherwise it may be required to fly indirect via Athens.

    Alternatively, Chania International Airport, "Daskalogiannis" (CHQ), is located on the northwestern Akrotiri Peninsula, 14 km / 8.7 mi east of Chania. It is around 212 km / 132 mi ( 3 hours) drive from the hotel.

    The airport also receives a number seasonal flights from cities across Europe, including the UK, and year-round flights from Athens.

FROM THE AIRPORT TO THE HOTEL

  • By taxi: A taxi from the airport to the hotel will take just under an hour, if arrivinf from Heraklion.

    By car: From the airport, merge onto the VOAK/E75 then continue onto EO Irakliou Agiou Nikolaou/VOAK/E75/EO90. Turn left onto Palea EO Irakliou Agiou Nikolaou/PEO90 (signs for Elounta/Iraklio Old Road) then turn right towards Elounta. Continue onto Epar.Od. Agiou Nikolaou – Vrouchas then turn right when you see signs for the hotel. Grid reference: 35.249232, 25.725158.
