Château de Bourdeau, located within a luscious alpine landscape and surrounded by vineyards, is a picture-postcard hotel in a setting fit for a fairytale. Instead of being a room lined with shelves of books, it’s a collection of original photographic portraits. This Bibliothéque also doubles as an atmospheric dining room – one of three, each with their own ambience and character. Indeed, the restaurant’s concept was created based on the legend of the dramatic ‘Dent du Chat’ mountain, which looms over the hotel’s horizon.

While the décor of all of the luxurious rooms at Château de Bourdeau is an amalgamation of traditional aspects with a modern touch, each also has its own story to tell. These themed bedrooms embody uniquely individual atmospheres. For example, while ‘Lamartine’ prides a romantic four-poster bed and enchanting wall painting, the quirky ‘La Traverse’ emanates the theme of travel with a suitcase-shaped wardrobe and stamp cushions, and ‘Trappeur’ is of another ilk entirely, with its rustic, forestry theme and stunning view onto a freshwater lake.
