Hotel West-End ★★★★

A majestic, historic hotel right on the Promenade.

By Rebecca Moore, VeryChic correspondent
The Promenade des Anglais has been one of the most popular spots in all of Nice for visitors since English aristocracy first had it built in the 18th century. No sooner was their long promenade along the sea built than the four-star Hotel West-end sprung up; under a different name, but just as stylish and popular as it is today, entertaining guests as noble as King Frederick Augustus III, and the Queen of the Netherlands. Modernised over the years, the Hotel West-end **** nevertheless retains that original charm, demonstrating exactly why the Promenade has drawn in guests for over a century and a half.
