Well, the Grand Atlantic Hotel **** in Arcachon might just be the next best thing; grandiose title aside, this intimate hotel is undoubtedly stylish in aspect, but unpretentious in atmosphere. The Grand Atlantic Hotel **** enjoys a privilged location at the heart of Arcachon, in the traditional fishing quarter Saint-Ferdinant, and not far from Arcachon port.

BY PLANE

  • Bordeaux is served by Bordeaux-Merignac Airport (BOD), which sits around 12 km (7.5 mi) west of the city centre and around 65km from the hotel. It is an international airport which is fairly well-served by flights from elsewhere in France along with a number of capitals cities and other large cities across Europe.

HOW TO GET FROM THE AIRPORT TO THE HOTEL

  • The best way to get the most out of this area, as well as guarantee a simple journey to the hotel from the airport, is to hire a car.

    From Bordeaux, join the A63 towards Arcachon.Carry on going straight for around 25km, then stay in the left lane to merge onto the A660 towards Bassin d'Arcachon/Biscarrosse. After around 21km, at the roundavout, take the second exit onto the N250. Continue straight to join the D1250. At the roundabout, take the 3rd exit to stay on the D1250, before taking the second exit at the next roundabout onto the Avenue de la Libération. Drive on until you reach Verdun, then take the 4th exit onto Général Leclerc. Once you reach the end of the boulevard take the first exit onto Avenue Gambetta. You will find the hotel on the second road of the left.
