NH Collection Brussels Centre ★★★★

Epic rooftop terrace hotel in Brussels city centre

By Jo Weston, VeryChic correspondent
In Brussels, expect to be struck by the clash of cultures, with Europe’s loveliest medieval square, the Grand Place, contrasting with 1960s office blocks and elegant 1920s Art Nouveau façades. Prepare to be pleasantly surprised by the variety of Belgian beers, delighted by the timeless cafés and intrigued by the juxtaposition of the home of frites with a fine-dining capital. Most curious of all, when you arrive at the NH Collection Brussels Centre ****, you’ll think they miscounted the stars – there should be at least one more!

Chic idea: to make the most of your time in Brussels, book your tickets here in advance for a wide range of activities.

Brussels

Belgium

The NH Collection Brussels Centre **** enjoys a wonderful location at the heart of the capital, only 5 minutes' walk from Grand Place.

BY PLANE

  • Brussels is served by two airports, Brussels National Airport (17 km) located in the neighbouring municipality of Zaventem, and Brussels-South Charleroi Airport (58 km) located between Brussels and Charleroi in Gosselies.

Brussels National Airport receives flights from most capitals and major cities across Europe. Meanwhile, low-cost airlines (notably Ryanair), operate flights to Brussels-South Charleroi Airport from many cities across Europe.

BY TRAIN

  • Brussels is easily accessible by train. Arriving internationally, high-speed trains are operated by several companies: Eurostar from the UK, TGV Europe from France and Thalys from a variety of countries including the UK, France, Germany and the Netherlands. Some journey times are: Paris (1 hour 30 minutes), London, Amsterdam and Cologne (1 hour and 50 minutes).

Arriving by Eurostar, TGV, Thalys or local train, you need to go to the Brussels Midi Station. Either take a taxi from there (about 3 km / 8 minutes) or tram lines 3 (green) or 4 (pink) to De Brouckère. From there it is a few minutes’ walk to the hotel.

HOW TO GET FROM THE AIRPORT TO THE HOTEL

  • From Brussels National Airport:

    - By taxi: the airport always has taxis outside the arrivals terminal, and as the hotel is only a quarter of an hour away the rate is not too expensive - around 30€.

    - By train: every 15 minutes the shuttle train departs for Brussels-Central station, which is around 1km away from the hotel. If you have lots of luggage, we recommend taking a taxi from here to the hotel.

    From Brussels Charleroi Airport:

    - By taxi: although it is possible to take a taxi, at around 100€ per journey (the hotel is 45 minutes away) this is not a particularly economical option.

    - By public transport: you can catch the Brussels City Shuttle every hour from the airport, which takes an hour to reach Gare du Midi. From here, you can take Line 3 to De Brouckere. In total this should cost just short of 20€.
