Ernest Hemingway’s explorations of Europe are well documented, but did you know he was particularly fond of Le Grau-du-Roi on France’s Mediterranean coast? He called it “a fine place… with a long beach and fine fishing port,” and he was right. Set amid 12 miles of beach, Port Camargue marina is the focal point of Le Grau-du-Roi, along with medieval town Aigues-Mortes and Camargue Regional Park. Le Spinaker **** is situated in the southern French region of Occitanie, in the town of Grau-du-Roi, a perfect location for total relaxation under the Mediterranean sun.

BY PLANE

  • Montpellier-Méditerranée Airport (MPL) sits 7 km / 4 mi southeast of Montpellier, and around 28 km / 17 mi (24 minutes') drive from the hotel. The airport does receive some regular and seasonal flights from a handful of major cities across Europe, along with elsewhere in France.

    From the airport to the hotel:
    • Bus: bus line 120, takes 15 minutes to reach Place de l'Europe (east of the city centre) from Montpellier Airport
    • Taxi/transfer: taxis are readily available at the airport or you can book online in advance. Private transfer services are also bookable in advance. It should take around 15-20 minutes to reach the city centre.

    Alternatively, Toulouse-Blagnac Airport (TLS) is located further west, about 281 km / 174 mi (2 hours and 48 minutes') drive from the hotel, and Marseille-Provence Airport (MRS) is located further east, about 127 km / 78 mi (1 hour 36 minutes') drive from the hotel; both receive more regular flights from a number of major cities across Europe.
