The Club Hotel & Spa ★★★★

Upon arriving at the Club Hotel and Spa, don't be put off by its rather unassuming façade. After being greeted by the friendly staff, the reception area leads through to the pool terrace where you can sip a cocktail from the bar, grab some reading material from the library and soak up the sunshine, to start your holiday in style.

You'll need somewhere to rest your head after spending each day marvelling at St Helier's historical buildings. The rooms are decorated with muted tones, occasionally interrupted with a splash of colour from a contemporary painting or vibrant rug. In keeping with the neutral colours, you'll find plush carpets, Frette dressed feather beds and coffee-toned furnishings. Natural light streams in through the floor-to-ceiling windows, and each room comes with modern comforts including LCD TVs, luxurious toiletries, fluffy bathrobes and slippers.

With dinner reservations in a few hours, there's enough time to don your fluffy white robes and head down to the Club Spa for some uninterrupted relaxation. Featuring a herbal steam room, salt cabin, sauna, experience shower and two swimming pools, the spa has five treatment rooms with a range of treatments on the menu, including Ayuverdic therapy and the incredibly popular Rasul Mud treatment.

Last but not least, it's time for the main attraction. After sampling the sumptuous dishes from the prestige menu, it's not hard to see how the Bohemia Restaurant earned its five AA Rosettes. The fantastic chef, Steve Smith, promises a sophisticated dining experience with his ever-evolving eight-course tasting menus which use local ingredients such as the Jersey Royal potato, fresh scallops and oysters. For a truly British classic, they also serve afternoon tea with a selection of finger sandwiches, cakes and fancies inspired by the head pastry chef.
