RIU Plaza New York Times Square **** is situated right in the heart of New York, in Manhattan, and a short distance from the emblematic sites of the city, such as Central Park, Rockefeller Center, EmpireState Building and Fifth Avenue.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

  • A passport which is valid for at least 6 months after your scheduled return date is required.

    Citizens of most European countries, including the United Kingdom, are eligible to enter the United States for business or tourism, under the Visa Waiver Program. In this case, you must apply for the Electronic System for Travel Authorization (ESTA) prior to boarding your flight to the United States. For more information, or to apply for your ESTA, please visit the official ESTA website.

    It is recommended to apply at least 72 hours prior to travel. The ESTA is valid for up to two years and allows for multiple entries of up to 90 days each into the United States (if you receive a new passport during the two-year period, you will have to reapply for your ESTA).

BY PLANE

  • New York is currently served by two main international airports. Between them they receive international flights from around the world, including major cities across the UK and the rest of Europe.

    • John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) sits about 12mi / 20km southeast of Lower Manhattan.
    • Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) sits about 15mi / 24km southwest of Midtown Manhattan, in New Jersey.

FROM THE AIRPORT TO THE HOTEL

  • From John F- Kennedy International Airport:
    - By taxi: be sure to take a real, licensed taxi (choose one from the designated taxi rank at the airport). The journey will be quite expensive and includes any tolls on the way, and a 15% tip.

    - By train: From JFK airport, take the AirTrain JFK Red to Jamaica Station, then take line E to 50 St. You will find the hotel 400m away.


    From Newark Liberty International Airport:
    - By train: take the AirTrain to Newark Airport Railroad Station. Take the Northeast Corridor to Pennsylvenia Station, and then from 34 St - Penn Station take line C to 42 St - Port Authority Bus terminal. You will find the hotel 350m away.
