View all offersEvery time we visit Paris we endeavour to explore a new quarter, this time, taking our cue from one of our favourite old time classics, we are following in Leslie Caron's footsteps and going to stay in the 16th arrondissement, just a stone's throw away from the magnificent Bois De Boulogne. It is this more retired, majestic, and greener Paris we are choosing to explore, though the rest of the city remains close at hand.
La Villa Maillot & Spa is an immaculate white mansion with great glass panels and windows, which allow a curious passer-by to peer in at its pristine interiors, created by famous Parisian designer Patrick Ribes. But we are no passers-by, so we step boldly into the gleaming lobby, with its velvet-upholstered pink chaise in the centre and glowing desk that gradually changes colour throughout the day. The hotel design is a contemporary take on a classical theme, a stately setting adorned with vivid splashes of colour, clean lines and a modern freshness. This can be found in the lighting scheme, the slightly 60s urban chic, and the abundance of natural light coming in from all angles, including the floor to ceiling windows in our bedroom.
The pearly daylight pours in, filtering through the leafy tree just outside and dancing on our glowing white walls. These are soundproofed and we find ourselves in a capsule of cloud-like silence. This slow, easy start sets the tone for our stay here in the lap of luxury at our elegant Parisian retreat – after freshening up with a selection of Hermes bath products, we head to the heavenly Le M spa. Upon entering the lavender lit space with its Turkish bath and sauna, I sink comfortably into the heartbeat of this refined, deluxe hotel. Everything about La Villa Maillot & Spa, from its carefully designed interiors, to the fine quality of every detail - be it the pillow menu or the divine breakfasts - breathes a serene, cosy charm and sumptuous repose that will have you seeing La Vie En Rose...
