Midtown Manhattan
The Martinique on Broadway finds itself where the 6th Avenue and 32nd W Street meet in Midtown Manhattan, right by the Empire State Building and Macy’s on Herald Square. Between Grand Central Station and Penn Station, the hotel is also extremely well connected to all parts of the Big Apple. As at the Martinique, you can visit the famous parks of the city, enter the United Nations and discover the secrets of lower Manhattan with a walking tour for free, courtesy of VeryChic.
History of the Martinique
Listed on the register of Historic Hotels of America, the Martinique is imbued with a rich history, apparent in the impressive mosaic-tile floor and 18-story spiral staircase that inspire as much grandeur as they did a century ago. The hotel opened amidst the theatre boom on Broadway at the turn of the 20th century and was later redesigned to blend Renaissance and Art Deco styles by Henry Hardenberg. This grand hotel has since hosted many celebrities, as well as the meetings that lead to the formation of the Professional Golfers Association.
