Gran Canaria Airport (LPA), sometimes also known as Gando Airport, serves the island of Gran Canaria. The airport is located in the eastern part of the island, on the Bay of Gando, just 19 km / 12 mi south of Las Palmas, and 25 km / 16 mi from the popular tourist areas of the south.
The airport receives a large number of regular and seasonal direct flights across Europe as well as a number of major cities in Africa. It also serves as base for Binter Canarias, Canaryfly, Ryanair, Norwegian Air Shuttle and Vueling.
