Pleasantly decorated rooms with sea views and a buffet breakfast, what more could you want for a care-free and comfortable stay.

We stumbled into our Premium Room, a cosy space with a warm, neutral palette of colours, pristine white lace curtains sheltered the balcony where we basked in calming views of the blue ocean. Our beds were comfortable, draped in shades of soft yellow and grey and canvas-effect paintings hung boldly on the walls. We awakened with enthusiasm for our buffet breakfast in the glistening and open restaurant that caters for vegetarians and celiacs. It was nice to start the day with a freshly squeezed juice, or even a Cava!

Then it was time to soak up some vitamin D at the pool or head to the beach, where there is a Mini Beach Club for the little ones. In the summer there are summer beach parties and inflatable castles, supervised by the caring and professional staff. Kayaks and paddle boards can be rented from Base Nautica, or you can rent a bike to tour Pineda and its old routes. The hotel also houses an arcade with a pool table, ping-pong, and arcade machines. The promenade, facing the beach is dotted with a plethora of shops and restaurants.

As evening approached, we headed to the Coffee Bar on the terrace, serving a variety of tantalising cocktails like the Pina Colada or traditional Spanish Sangria, and were serenaded by live music or flamenco. The little ones are kept entertained with a kids disco and can enjoy smoothies, iced drinks and ice cream from the Coffee Bar. Go to bed serene and contented, as you plan your adventures for the following day.
