ADMINISTRATIVE FORMALITIES

  • Citizens or residents of the United Kingdom, United States, Canada or any European Union, and number of other countries, do not require a visa to enter the Dominican Republic. A Tourist Card will have to be purchased however, either at the Consular Section of the Embassy of the Dominican Republic, or directly at the airport on arrival for $10 (USD) or equivalent.

    Please note, if you are flying via the United States, you will require an ESTA Visa, although citizens from a number of countries including the UK are eligible for the Visa Waiver Program (VWP).

BY PLANE

  • The nearest airport is Punta Cana International Airport (PUJ), in Punta Cana, on the eastern coast of the Dominican Republic. The airport receives a number of regular and seasonal flights from cities across Europe, such as London, Paris, Madrid, Frankfurt and Munich. From elsewhere you will likely need to fly indirect via one of these cities or for example via the US (such as New York, Philadelphia or Atlanta).

    As of 2022, all Covid-19 related restrictions have been lifted, however, we recommending checking the latest information on the official Go Dominican Republic website, and your own government's current travel advice, prior to travel.
