Exploring The Big Apple from Westgate New York Grand Central couldn’t be easier, The United Nations, Rockefeller Centre and the Empire State Building are all within close walking distance. There is a plethora of shops nearby as you wander towards the famous Times Square, stop at Grand Central Market for fresh, local produce, straight from farm to table, then further up you have Macy’s department store boasting everything from clothes to luxury beauty products. Head towards 5th avenue, before reaching Central Park, stop for a photo with Alice in Wonderland, take a horse and cart tour of the green expanse, or visit the Central Park Zoo.
One thing is for sure, there’s plenty of things to do in the city and neighbourhoods to visit, a good introduction is the Big Bus Hop On that will take you on a tour of the most popular landmarks. To end the day, why not treat yourself to a glass of wine at the hotel bar, after all the walking, you deserve it!

The Westgate New York Grand Central **** is located in the historic district of Tudor City, in the heart of Midtown East Manhattan. The neo-Gothic style hotel offers easy access to notable New York landmarks such as Grand Central Station, Empire State Building, Times Square, Rockefeller Centre and the United Nations.
A passport which is valid for at least 6 months after your scheduled return date is required.
Citizens of most European countries, including the United Kingdom, are eligible to enter the United States for business or tourism, under the Visa Waiver Program. In this case, you must apply for the Electronic System for Travel Authorization (ESTA) prior to boarding your flight to the United States. It is recommended to apply at least 72 hours prior to travel. The ESTA is valid for up to two years and allows for multiple entries of up to 90 days each into the United States (if you receive a new passport during the two-year period, you will have to reapply for your ESTA).
New York is currently served by two main international airports. Between them they receive international flights from around the world, including major cities across the UK and the rest of Europe.
From the airports to the hotel:
• From JFK Airport: be sure to take a licensed taxi from the designated taxi rank, it can be an expensive option including any tolls on the way, and a 15% tip. Alternatively, take the AirTrain to Jamaica Station, then the Sutphin Blvd-Archer Av train to Lexington Av/53 St, then line 6 from 51 St to Grand Central-42 St.
• From Newark Airport: be sure to take a licensed taxi from the designated taxi rank, it can be an expensive option including any tolls on the way, and a 15% tip. Alternatively, from Terminal B, take the Newark Airport Express to W 42nd St, walk to bus number M42, travel 9 stops to E 42 St & 2 Av.
