View all offersI’d been to Paris before, but this time was for some sisterly bonding, and to escape laptop days, merely broken by tea breaks and cooking the dinner! We decided to pack a suitcase for a long weekend and fly to one of Europe’s most loved capitals, the city of lights, fashion and buttery croissants that melt in your mouth. The Hôtel de Lutèce suited us perfectly, its central location and tastefully decorated rooms summoned us to make a swift booking.
On arrival, staff were wonderful, and we were charmed by the quaint fireplace in the common area, creating a snug and homely vibe. The reception was open 24/7, so if you need anything at all, there’s always someone at the desk. A continental, buffet breakfast filled us right up in the morning before a day of shopping, art galleries and a cruise along the Seine. Our Deluxe Room opened onto views of the courtyard, and we enjoyed all the mod-cons you could need for a comfortable trip, from a hair dryer, to free bathroom treats, a flat-screen and minibar.
The 4th arrondissement was probably one of our most loved districts in Paris. Marais is wonderful for hip boutiques, the grassy Place des Vosges perfect for a quiet stroll, and the modern art museum of Centre Pompidou is an avant-garde complex filled with interesting works of art. Within a short walk from the hotel, is the Notre-Dame cathedral, reeling back memories of Disney’s “Hunchback of Notre Dame” we watched when we were kids.
There were so many dinner options nearby when we got hungry, from La Brasserie de I’Isle Saint-Louis to the beautifully decorated Aux Anysetiers Du Roy, right around the corner. If you like historically rich buildings, galleries, and cosy cafes and restaurants for your stay in Paris, then we recommend the Hôtel de Lutèce.
