View all offersThe entrance to Cleopatra Luxury Makadi Bay Resort is like that of a movie. As the taxi drove below the archway, down the palm lined roadway to the hotel, we were brimming with excitement. A heavenly pristine, blue pool awaited us as we landed, the hotel an immense property surrounded by green. We threw down our cases and scurried with anticipation to sojourn by the pool, admiring the faux flamingos on flamingo island. Our Premium Room by the beach was beautifully furnished, and everyday we could look out into the vastness of the sea.
We were spoilt for choice with the range of activities at the hotel, from archery to scuba diving and even fly yoga, which was a fun experience! We indulged in ice-cream at Scheherazade, amidst its beautiful traditional décor, and the sweet smell of flavoured shisha. The Vista Mare Italian restaurant was an elegant setting for dinner, with polished marble flooring and comfortable seating. We enjoyed succulent steak with a side of vegetables and some of the finest desserts. The waterfront restaurant boasted fabulous views, as the name suggests, but as you are in Egypt, you will want to venture out and taste the local cuisine too like Gibna beida, similar to feta and kushari.
The spa was glorious, to revive us after a day in the scorching sun. An aromatherapy bath with the scent of rose petals by candlelight was just what was needed. We then indulged in a couple’s massage, which almost had me drifting off to sleep, but not before a dip in the hot tub and a refreshing swim in the spa’s outdoor pool.
Dive into the Red Sea, be pampered at the spa, allow the beach views from the hotel to captivate your heart, and immerse yourself into the fascinating culture of the ancient Egyptians, with no better place to experience it all than from the Cleopatra Luxury Makadi Bay Resort.
