Aelia Luxury Suites

Modernity meets tradition at the Aelia luxury suites, this brand-new property situated in Karterados, a peaceful, scenic village, just 2 kilometres from Thera, in the centre of Santorini. The traditional village is full of charm and heritage, and not flooded with tourists. We indulged in local cakes and pastries from the Erotokritos Cretan Bakery, visited the local Greek Orthodox church and walked along the mesmerizing Faros Akrotiriou-Oias Park, where the views of the vast ocean will melt your heart.

Designed with Cycladic architecture in mind, whitewashed cube suites provide a minimal aesthetic at the Aelia Luxury Suites, while exuding elegance. In our superior suite, the sea, like a blue blanket stretched out before our eyes from our cosy and spotless cocoon. There is an air of sophistication, and quality, natural materials provide high-end amenities and furnishings.

From the property pool and hot tub, we would spend hours relaxing and appreciating the tranquillity and unspoilt landscape around us. The restaurant was only exquisite, with imaginative dishes and a portfolio of fine wines. Once fully nourished, we of course explored neighbouring Thera, its prehistoric museum, and the infamous Three Bells where we took our own Instagram worthy snapshots.

From black sandy, volcanic beaches to sunsets over the sea, Santorini is a dream turned into reality, and somewhere I would return to time and time again.
