Near the town of Bergerac, in the heart of the Purple Périgord, the fine wine area of the Dordogne, lies a hidden gem. Set in 12 hectares of parkland, with panoramic views of the surrounding countryside, is the lovingly restored 17th century building that is now the delightful hotel, La Chartreuse Du Bignac, and undoubtedly one of the best places to stay in the region.

  • Bergerac Dordogne Périgord Airport (EGC) sits around 7 km / 4 mi / 10 minutes' drive from the hotel. Though small, the airport receives regular and seasonal direct flights from a handful of European cities, in particular in the UK.

    Alternatively, Bordeaux-Merignac Airport (BOD) is located further west, around 137 km / 85 mi / 1 hour & 45 minutes drive from the hotel. This airport is fairly well-served by flights from number of major cities across Europe and elsewhere in France.
