The Hotel Carlton Capri is located in the heart of Venice, on a tranquil backstreet just a couple of minutes’ walk from the Grand Canal, most of the major sights are within walking distance, along with plenty of restaurants and bars in the surrounding area.
Venice Marco Polo Airport (VCE), is located on the Italian mainland around 8 km / 5 mi north of Venice. The airport is well served, and receives flights from many capitals and other major cities across Europe.
From the airport to the city centre:
• Bus: the no.5 Aerobus, departs every 15 minutres to Piazzale Roma terminal in the city centre, taking around 30 to 45 minutes, while the pricier ATVO blue bus does the journey in just 20 minutes.
• Water bus: the Alilaguna water buses (vaporettos) operate to several places in Venice including Piazza San Marco.
• Water taxi: water taxis are a very very expensive option, but can fit a maximum of ten people and can be worthwhile if sharing the cost.
From Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and on Saturdays, Sundays and French bank holidays from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
