The azure-blue waters and pure, dazzling sunlight of the Cap de Creus peninsula, Spain’s easternmost point, have inspired many artists from Picasso to Matisse and most famously the surrealist Salvador Dalí, who, for decades, kept a home studio here. Its rocky coastline breaks into sandy beaches and tranquil coves and boasts the incredible landscape of the Cap de Creus Natural Park. Where to stay? The charming and intimate Boutique Hotel Villa Salvador - set at the heart of the unspoilt and picturesque fishing village of Cadaqués.
