Hôtel Le Colombier ★★★★

A traditional Alsatian house-hotel on France’s oldest wine route - I mean…wine not?

Remarkable
8.9 /10
By Fiona Tindale, VeryChic correspondent
“The discovery of a wine is of greater moment than the discovery of a constellation. The universe is too full of stars.” Benjamin Franklin.

I heard on the grapevine that there was a charming, typically Alsatian-style town house hotel just a few kilometres away from Strasbourg. Not only is it perfectly situated in the centre of the old town, but Hôtel Le Colombier is located on France’s oldest wine route. A perfect combination of the old and new, this peaceful hotel of 46 rooms or apartments is ideal, whether you are travelling for business or pleasure. What better way to spend your holiday than experiencing one of the main cultural aspects France has to offer: its world-famous wine production! France has roughly 27,000 wineries in all, and the picturesque Alsace region is a great starting point.
