By Tom Campbell, VeryChic correspondent
The Mercure Amsterdam North Station is situated in Amsterdam’s up and coming Noord area, which has been transformed from an old shipping hub to a creative quarter with bohemian vibes, and plenty of trendy bars and restaurants to discover. A stone’s throw away from the metro station with a direct line to the city centre, the four-star hotel, with its cosy and comfortable rooms and very friendly staff, serves as the perfect base from which to explore this iconic European capital.

Netherlands

Mercure Amsterdam North Station **** is located in Amsterdam, 3.7 kilometres from A'DAM Lookout and 5 minutes from Central Station.

BY PLANE

  • Amsterdam Schiphol Airport (AMS) is located around 9km / 5.6mi southwest of Amsterdam. It is the main international airport in Netherlands and serves as a hub for KLM and Transavia. It welcomes year-round direct flights from many European capitals and major cities, including from the UK.

From the airport to the hotel:
    • Taxi: taxis are available in front of the airport and will take you directly to the hotel, look out for the fully electric Taxi-E's – eco-friendly, slightly cheaper and with free Wi-Fi too!
    • Airport Shuttle Bus: between 6am and 9pm, Connexxion buses leave every 10 minutes from platform A7 (just outside the arrivals hall), and will drop you outside the hotel.
    • Train: a convenient, economical, and direct option, the train takes around 10 minutes to reach Amsterdam Zuid Station.

BY TRAIN

  • Amsterdam Centraal Station is the main railway station in Amsterdam, located city centre. It is connected with the country's high-speed train network and most international trains arrive here. It is therefore possible to reach Amsterdam city centre by train rapidly from neighbouring countries. For example, the journey time from London with Eurostar in conjunction with Thalys, is around 4 hours and 45 minutes.
