Getting from
Paris Charles de Gaulle airport to Paris Gare du Nord, where trains leave for Caen (see further down for details):
- By taxi: Taxis are easily found outside each terminal, make sure to take an officially licensed taxi from the taxi rank. Fares vary considerably depending on traffic, but expect to pay anywhere between 45 to 55 euros.
- By train: This is generally the most cost-efficient method. The airport is connected to the city via Line B of the RER; and the train conveniently stops at Paris Gare du Nord along the way. Tickets cost 9.75€ or 6.85€ for children (aged 4- 9).
Getting from
Paris Orly airport to Paris Gare du Nord, where trains leave for Caen (see further down for details):
- By taxi: Taxis are easily found outside each terminal, make sure to take an officially licensed taxi from the taxi rank. Fares vary considerably depending on traffic, but expect to pay anywhere between 40 to 50 euros.
- By train: The airport is connected to RER Line B via the bus service
Orlyval. The ORLYVAL bus will drop you off at RER station Anthony. You can then take the RER right up to Paris Gare du Nord. The combined journey costs around 11.65€ and 5.80€ for children (4-10).
Getting to Caen from
Paris-Beauvais airport:
- By train: First, either take a taxi (around 11€) or shuttle bus (around 4€ per person) to Beauvais station. From there you can take an SNCF train to Caen; as the journey is not direct you will need to change at Paris St Lazare. The duration is 3 hours and 50 minutes and costs 51€.
By train:
Most international trains to Paris arrive at either Paris Gare du Nord or Paris Gare de l’Est. To transfer from Gare de l’Est to the Gare du Nord, take the metro M5 (orange) for one stop.
From the UK: The train company Eurostar operate trains from London St. Pancras International train station to Paris Gare du Nord.
From Germany: Trains can terminate at either Paris Gare du Nord or Paris de l’Est. Direct trains are found from several major cities including Frankfurt, Cologne and Dusseldorf. High-speed train company Thalys operate trains from Dusseldorf and Cologne.
From the Netherlands: High-speed train company Thalys also run direct trains from Amsterdam and Rotterdam to Paris Gare du Nord.
From France: The French TGV operate fast trains from all over France, including: Lille (1 hour), Nantes and Lyon (2 hours), Bordeaux and Marseille (3 hours) and Nice (5 and a half hours).
From Paris to Caen:
Trains run regularly from Paris Gare du Nord train station to Caen, and are operated by the SNCF. The journey takes around 2 hours 30 minutes, and costs around 35€. Make sure to check the train times on SNCF before planning your journey.
From Caen train station to the hotel:
The hotel is about 20 minutes by car from the station. We recommend ordering a taxi to get to the hotel.
