Hotel & Spa La Collada ★★★★

There is a litany of activities to choose from when on a holiday such as this. Even if you aren’t an experienced skier, there are slopes that cater for people of all levels. From beginners, right through to seasoned pros and adrenalin junkies, I found that there was something for everyone. And the atmosphere was just fantastic. The problem we often face when on holiday is finding somewhere that has something for the whole family, and while Hôtel Guitart Termes la Collada has just that, we found that it really embodied a welcoming spirit for all personalities.

 

So much of the time, your body can take a real battering on the slopes. And for this reason, I now refuse to visit any ski resort that does not have a spa. Nothing beats a relaxing massage or a lazy evening spent in the jacuzzi, letting your body recover from the day’s activities. Big rectangular windows overlook the snow-cropped mountains of the Pyrenees from the gorgeous pool, which is incredibly hard to tear your gaze away from, as you sit under a stream of cascading water massaging your back. Reclining on a massage bed, having a dip in the Turkish bath or getting a sweat on in the sauna are a great way to finish the day – or start the day.

 

Although there are so many places to have some much needed alone time when necessary – like the library or the café, the hotel offers something any couple would love. There is a romantic restaurant with views only a mad man could get bored of, offering a private dining experience for those times when a little intimate space is needed.

 

Hôtel Guitart Termes la Collada is a class act. Arresting views at every turn and a real sense of luxury, I wouldn’t stay anywhere else!
