Our trip to Embiez was one I’d booked in the hope that its calming island charm would be therapeutic to the soul, making for a hassle-free holiday of sun and relaxation. I wasn’t looking for excessive pampering or extravagant luxury, just a tranquil and beautiful setting in which I could escape from everyday life. Shaded beneath tall pine trees that let rays of sunlight gleam through the occasional gap, I realized we’d chosen wisely from the moment Les Appartements de l’Helios’ marvellous exterior came into sight. Though we needed freshening up, we still felt like royalty arriving at this magnificent resort, walking up those opulent steps leading up to the lobby, white pillars, and walls of luscious greenery either side of us. This was the haven I’d been looking for.
We entered our apartment and, after ridding ourselves of said bags, took a moment to admire the spectacular window views. Between Les Appartements de l’Helios and the green cliffs that lined the background lay the glittering sea, gently nursing sailboats as birds soared in the sky above. This glorious scene was reflected in the apartment’s comfortable bedding and decorative touches, all brilliant shades of blue. The sleek wooden furniture and countless amenities blended soft earthy tones instead. Black and white laced the finer details of the room, giving it a contemporary and stylish appearance.
A tall ceiling, soft illumination and pristine decor makes the onsite restaurant a most wonderful treat for lovers of fine dining, as does the atmospheric colour scheme of whites and blues, excellent service and, well, of course – the food! A fusion of fresh Mediterranean cuisine and meaty French classics defines the menu; a most excellent selection of sensational dishes that are lovingly prepared by the restaurant’s talented chef.
A comprehensive list of practical facilities, either directly in our apartment or close nearby, left us in no doubt that we had our every need catered for – and a lot of freedom in catering for them! By the end of the week, we’d fit in kayaking, scuba diving, horse riding, hiking, souvenir shopping, museum going and, of course, extensive sampling of the local cuisine.
