The writer Mark Twain once said: “The Creator made Italy from designs by Michelangelo,” and nowhere is this more true than Tuscany, one of the most stunning areas of the country, where rolling green and gold hills meet swathes of vineyards and olive groves, punctuated by terracotta stone houses. It’s also home to some of Italy’s most famous and most beautiful cities; Florence, Pisa and Siena. Situated just 10km from the city of Siena sits a unique and charming accommodation option, housed in a 13th century stone castle – the Castello di Leonina.
