BY PLANE
The nearest airport, La Rochelle–Île de Ré Airport sits on the outskirts of La Rochelle, about 11.5km / 7mi / 15 minutes' drive from the hotel. The airport receives some year-round regular flights from elsewhere in France, such as Paris and Lyon, and seasonal flights from some other European destinations, notably the UK and Ireland.
Alternatively, Nantes Atlantique Airport further north near Nantes, is about 150km / 93mi / 1 hour and 30 minutes' drive from the hotel. It receives a number of national and international flights from across Europe.
TO THE HOTEL
From Nantes Airport:
- By train:
The closest train station is La Rochelle - Ville, 70 km / 12 mi from the hotel. Tickets can be booked on the SNCF website. From here you can take a taxi or rent a car to reach the hotel 30 minutes' drive away. Alternatively there is a bus from the station to the Île de Ré which takes around 1 hour.
- By car:
Nantes Atlantique Airport is an hour and 50 minutes’ drive from the hotel.
From the E3, take the exit 48a-Porte Sorinières/Bordeaux/La Roche-sur-Yon/Saint-Philbert-de-Grand-Lieu, and continue onto A83/E3 for about an hour and 15 minutes. Take exit 7 for the E3 and keep following signs to La Rochelle, and then to Île de Ré. Once you have crossed the bridge, take the first exit at the first roundabout (not the one to the parking lot), and at the following roundabout take the third exit. Follow D201 and turn left to Sainte Marie de Ré Port Notre Dame. From there on there will be road signs showing the way to the hotel.
BY TRAIN
The closest station is in La Rochelle, served by France’s high-speed TGV network. It is therefore possible to arrive by high-speed train with companies such as TGV, Thalys and Eurostar, from various countries across Europe like the UK, Netherlands or Germany (as well as other cities in France). Trains run from Paris Montparnasse to La Rochelle-Ville in around 3 hours.From La Rochelle station, you can take a taxi or rent a car to reach the hotel, which is 30 minutes' drive away, or take a bus running directly from the station to the Île de Ré in around 1 hour.
From Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and on Saturdays, Sundays and French bank holidays from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
