London is served by several airports: London Heathrow (west), London Gatwick (south), London Stansted (north-east), London Luton (north-west) and London City (south-east).
From the UK: British Airways(BA) operate flights to London from elsewhere in the UK including Glasgow, Edinburgh, Belfast and Manchester. EasyJet also operate some flights.
From Ireland: BA, Aer Lingus and Ryanair fly direct from Dublin and Cork. Aer Lingus and Ryanair also fly from Shannon.
From Germany: Direct flights from major cities such as Berlin, Hamburg, Dusseldorf, Frankfurt, Cologne and Munich, are available from some or all of the following airlines: BA, Air Berlin, Lufthansa, Germanwings, EasyJet, and Ryanair.
From the Netherlands: BA, KLM, and EasyJet provide direct flights from Amsterdam. British Airways and KLM also fly out of Rotterdam and Ryanair fly from Eindhoven.
From Sweden, Denmark, Norway and Finland: BA, SAS, Norwegian and EasyJet fly direct from Stockholm, Sweden and Oslo, Norway. The same, except replacing EasyJet with Ryanair, fly from Copenhagen, Denmark. BA, Norwegian and Finnair fly direct from Helsinki, Finland.
From France: BA, Air France, EasyJet and CityJet all fly direct from Paris. BA and EasyJet also fly from Lyon, Bordeaux, Toulouse and Marseille. Ryanair also fly from Bordeaux and Marseille.
From London Heathrow to Central London:
- By train:The Heathrow Express isn’t the cheapest but is certainly the fastest method, taking 15 minutes to London Paddington Station. Tickets are around £26 single (£21 in advance) or £39 return (£34 in advance). Regular train services also run, taking twice the time, for around £10. The cheapest method is the underground (metro) Piccadilly Line. Conveniently, the nearest station to the Citadines Prestige Holborn-Covent Garden Apartments is Holborn, which is a stop on the Piccadilly line.
From London Gatwick to Central London:
- By train: From Gatwick Airport station, you can take the Thameslink Train (towards Bedford) for six stops to Farringdon Station. From there, turn right and walk along Cowcross Street to Farringdon Road. Turn left and walk towards Charterhouse Street; turn right and when you reach Holborn Circus junction, stay right and continue walking along Holborn. The hotel will be on your right.
The Gatwick Express to London Victoria runs regularly with a journey time of 30 minutes. Tickets are around £20 single (£10 for children) or £35 return (£18 for children); it is a little cheaper if booked in advance. For around £15 single, Southern Trains operate four times an hour to London Victoria, taking around 35 minutes.
- By bus: National Express operates direct coach services to London Victoria once an hour with a journey time of around 90 minutes. Tickets are around £8 single, £15 return.
A low-cost, frequent and non-stop transfer service is also operated by EasyBus from North and South terminals to Earl’s Court/West Brompton. The journey takes about an hour.
From London City Airport to Central London:
- By train: There is a DLR train station in front of the airport; it is three stops to Canning Town where you can change for London Underground services and take the Jubilee line to Waterloo. It is also possible to take bus number 474 to Canning Town.
- By taxi: London City airport is close to central London, and a cab will cost around £30.
From London Luton to central London:
- By train: A shuttle bus goes to Luton Airport Parkway Station where East Midlands Trains run to London St Pancras/ Kings Cross in 25 minutes. Tickets are around £18 single and £30 return.
- By bus: The National Express to London Victoria (about 35 minutes) is around £10 single and £15 return. EasyBus run to Baker Street (60 minutes) which is often cheaper but prices vary.
From London Stansted to central London:
- By train: The Stansted Express runs to London Liverpool Street in about 50 minutes, for around £23 single and £33 return.
- By bus: The National Express to London Liverpool Street (about 75 minutes) costs £8 single and £15 return. EasyBus go to Baker Street (75 minutes) and is often cheaper but prices vary.
From within the UK trains can be found and booked via National Rail. From mainland Europe trains can be found and booked via Rail Europe. Together, the companies Eurostar and Thalys operate high speed train services from Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium and France to London St Pancras International.
The nearest station to the Apartments is Holborn, serviced by the Piccadilly Line and the Central Line, providing excellent links to all of Central London and the City, the financial and business district.
From London Victoria, take the London Underground. Take the Victoria Line northbound one stop to Green Park, change to the Piccadilly Line northbound for four stops, until Holborn. From there, walk right down High Holborn to the Citadines Holborn - Covent Garden ****.
From Earl’s Court Tube station, take the London Underground Piccadilly Line for eight stops, to Holborn. From there, walk right down High Holborn to the Citadines Holborn - Covent Garden ****.
From Kings Cross St. Pancras, take the Piccadilly Line southbound for two stops to Holborn. From there, walk right down High Holborn to the Citadines Holborn - Covent Garden ****.
From London Liverpool Street, take the Central Line westbound for four stops, to Holborn. From there, walk right down High Holborn.
From Baker Street, take the Bakerloo Line southbound towards Elephant and Castle. Change for the Piccadilly Line at Oxford Circus (two stops). From there, take the Piccadilly Line Westbound for two stops to Holborn. Turn right outside the station and walk down High Holborn. The hotel will be on your left.
From Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and on Saturdays, Sundays and French bank holidays from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
